To strengthen the security of our platform and ensure compliance with industry standards, BibliU has enabled 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Web, Android, and iOS users who log in with a username and password. This update is part of our ongoing commitment to secure your data.
The majority of our users who access the platform using LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) or SSO (Single Sign-On) methods will not be affected by this change.
How BibliU's 2-Factor Authentication Works
When logging into the BibliU platform with your username and password, you will now be required to complete an additional verification step:
- Receive a Code: After entering your login credentials, you will receive a 6-digit code via email.
- Enter the Code: You will be prompted to enter this code on the platform.
- Complete Login: Once the code is successfully entered, you will be granted access to your account.
Important Notes
-
Scope of 2FA: This security feature applies to logins through both the BibliU Reader (bibliu.com) and through Admin/Ops portals.
-
Version Requirements: To see the 2FA prompt, Android users must be on version v26.6.4 or later, and iOS users must be on version v26.6.6 or later. Users on older versions will not see the 2FA modal and will receive error messages prompting them to upgrade to the latest version of the app.
We recommend all users update their apps to the latest versions to ensure a smooth and secure login experience.
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to enhance the security of our platform. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please contact our support team at support@bibliu.com for assistance.
