Why This Is Important
Welcome to BibliU. This page is your starting point. The two definition cards below explain the program your institution is on. The short article that follows explains what it means for you as faculty. Then pick the login path that fits how you work; most faculty use the LMS path.
Video introduction to BibliU Access program
What is an Access program?
An Access program is an affordability model that delivers required course materials digitally through your Learning Management System so every enrolled student is ready on the first day of class.
Instead of each student deciding whether and when to buy the textbook, the institution arranges for the materials to be available automatically — billed as part of tuition or as a course fee that is eligible for financial aid. Students who do not want the materials can opt out by their institution's published deadline.
The result: predictable pricing for students, full content choice for faculty, and a single coordinated workflow for the campus store.
Inclusive Access vs. Equitable Access
Inclusive Access (IA) is a course-by-course program. Each course that participates carries its own per-course materials charge, and students opt out of each course individually up to the census or drop/add date. IA is the right fit when an institution wants to participate selectively.
Equitable Access (EA) is an institution-wide program. A single flat fee, usually billed per course or per credit hour, covers required materials for every course the student is enrolled in. Opt-out happens at the program level rather than per course. EA is the right fit when an institution wants uniform, predictable pricing across all programs.
Both models guarantee Day 1 access, both keep faculty content choice intact, both are financial-aid eligible, and both rely on the same BibliU Reader and Library. The difference is how the cost is structured and how opt-out works.
