Why this matters
BibliU covers eligible courseware through student fees, so students in Access programs are already paid up and should never see a purchase screen. However, BibliU does not create your publisher course, and it does not connect that course to your LMS. If you skip setup, students will have coverage but no way to reach their course, assignments, or grades.
Before you start
- Confirm your ISBN. Open the BibliU adoption tool and check the Booklist tab for the ISBN that was adopted, not just the one you requested. The ISBN can vary with editions and access length, and publishers may update it after adoption.
- Know your LMS. This is your course platform, such as Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle.
- Talk to your publisher rep. Confirm which access method (A, B, or C below) your publisher supports.
- Know who can help. Your college's IT or LMS administrator handles LMS installs. The publisher's support team handles platform and LTI setup.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1: Set up the course on the publisher platform
- Open the BibliU adoption tool and go to the Booklist tab.
- Note the current ISBN for your title.
- Create your course on the publisher platform using that adopted ISBN.
Step 2: Give students a route to the course
Choose one access method below and confirm it with your publisher rep.
| A. LTI through your LMS | B. LTI with the publisher | C. Direct link (no LTI) |

Final Check
- Confirm the publisher course uses the adopted ISBN.
- Confirm students can see and open the course link or navigation tab in your LMS.
- If you used a direct link, confirm it is posted where students will find it.
Do not rely on the Library placeholder. Some titles may show a "Courseware" placeholder with a publisher link or access code in a student's BibliU Library. That link is a convenience, not a setup step, and it may not be present. Complete both steps above whether the courseware is code-free or requires a code.
