Why does it matter?
Your students often have the option to opt-out within the Equitable Access (EA) program. When students ask you whether they should opt out, understanding how the EA opt-out process works means you can give them accurate information and set the right expectations about cost and material access.
Should Your Students Out?
| Stay Enrolled in the Program | If You Opt Out |
|---|---|
| + Access to all BibliU course materials | - You will source your own materials |
| + Everything ready on the first day of class | - Flat fee is removed from your account |
| + No need to shop for separate textbooks | - Access ends when the deadline passes |
| + Flat fee stays on your student account | - Must opt out of ALL materials (all or nothing) |
Step-by-step Instructions for your students
Log in to BibliU
Open your college Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Brightspace D2L) and click the BibliU link, or go to bibliu.com and sign in with your college credentials.
Find the opt-out banner
On the BibliU Library, look for the opt-out banner at the top of the page. Click it to open your Opt Out page.
Click "Opt Out" and choose a reason
You will see all your BibliU Access materials listed. Click "Opt Out", select a reason from the menu, then click Continue. Your decision is saved immediately.
Change your mind? You can, before the deadline
Update your decision as many times as you like before the deadline. After the deadline, your decision is final and access to opted-out materials is permanently removed.
Check Your Deadline
Your opt-out deadline is listed on the Opt Out banner and on the Opt Out page in BibliU. Check it as soon as possible. Missed deadlines cannot be refunded.
