The Customer Success team at BibliU has put together a list of words you are likely to encounter with BibliU, to help you make the most of the platform and our partnership. Please find these words below:
LMS - Learning Management System that contains all necessary content for the academic year including reading lists, lecture notes, links to books, etc. Example LMS include Moodle, Canvas and Blackboard.
OER / Open Educational Resources - free teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.
Courseware - any interactive learning component e.g. quizzes, discussion threads, grading, etc. that enhances students’ learning experience. Examples include Pearson’s MyLab, Mastering, Cengage’s MindTap, etc.
Ebook - is a book made available in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable on the display of computers or other electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.
Moodle - Learning Management System that contains all necessary content for the academic year including reading lists, lecture notes, links to books, etc. Other LMS include Canvas, Blackboard and Google Classroom. Jackson College uses Moodle and this is more commonly known to students and faculty as JetNet.
CourseID (needed for redeeming Pearson access codes) -
When redeeming Pearson access codes, the platform will also require something called a Course ID. To get a Course ID, instructors will need to set up their courses in MyLab/Mastering (Pearson). Professors who use Pearson MyLab/Mastering products would often know how to set up their courses and generate the ‘course ID’ that they provide to the class.
However, if you are an instructor and need help setting up your MyLab or Mastering course, then please reach out to the Pearson Customer Success Representative (CSR) for Jackson College, Katie Hinton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
New instructors with no prior experience with MyLab/Mastering that need instructor access and would like to learn more about the products in general can contact their dedicated Pearson Sales Representative Chris Delaney. email@example.com.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please email our Support team at firstname.lastname@example.org
